My time management tip for today isn’t exactly about time, it’s about the “stuff” in our lives. I firmly believe that the stuff in our home and work environment takes up space in our brains as well. Just look around you at your belongings, the piles of things you own. It takes time and energy to figure out where to put them, keep them organized, and dusted.
I want space in my life to do the things I want to do and space in my brain so I have room to be creative and productive. One strategy of mine is to maintain a giveaway bag in the downstairs closet. As I go through my day and week, I keep my eyes open looking for things in my space I really don’t need, want, or use anymore. I’ll pick the object up and say to myself, “It is time for you to become someone else’s treasure.” I then put the object into the giveaway bag downstairs.
